DUBLIN, Feb. 3, 2012  /PRNewswire/ -- AMPAC-ISP CORP. (AMPAC-ISP), American Pacific Corporation's (NASDAQ: APFC) wholly-owned in-space propulsion subsidiary, reported that its European operations, AMPAC-ISP Europe, has received Aerospace Standard 9100 Rev. C (AS9100C) certification on its first audit.

AMPAC-ISP Europe operates three sites, Dublin (Ireland) and Westcott and Cheltenham (UK), with a focus on highly engineered propulsion systems and components.  The successful audit included all three facilities.

The Aerospace Standards (AS) is a series of specific standards based on the ISO 9001 standard, a stringent quality management standard for systems and processes.  Developed by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG), the AS Standards provide international consistency and address the specific regulatory, safety and reliability requirements demanded by the aerospace sector.  AS9100C is the latest Quality Management System standard, for Aviation, Space and Defense organizations, with an increased focus on program and risk management, intensive supply chain management controls, and facility-wide continuous improvement activities that include on-time delivery and product conformity measurement processes.  This new revision includes updating the ISO standard alignment to ISO 9001:2008.  Industry-specific standards, like AS9100, help manufacturers monitor critical cost and time-to-market factors, while ensuring customers get the best quality products available.

David Gibbons, Managing Director for AMPAC-ISP Europe, stated, "Achieving this certification on our first audit is a true testament to our quality systems and our commitment to ensuring we meet and exceed our customers' expectations though our continuous improvement philosophy.  We continually strive to be in line with our customers' needs for highly reliable propulsion equipment and services, including thrusters, fluid controls and spacecraft structures."
