The National Environmental Services Center (NESC) helps small, rural communities with their drinking water, wastewater treatment, environmental training, infrastructure resilience, and utility management needs, and helps lead them to solutions to the problems they face.

NESC is funded primarily by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Utilities Service and is based at West Virginia University (WVU).
