ENCON Drum Evaporators are an affordable way to efficiently dewater small volume waste streams. Simple operation. Unit uses a standard 55-gallon drum to hold wastewater. ENCON offers two models: the ENCON DE-2 (200 gallons per 5 day week) and DE-4 (400 gallons per 5 day week) Drum Evaporators. These systems are electrically heated and can operate in batch mode or the optional auto-fill mode. The ENCON Drum Evaporator can handle the same applications as our ENCON Thermal Wastewater Evaporators. A great advantage of the ENCON Drum Evaporator is that the dry residue does not have to be scraped or removed from the evaporation vessel. Since a 55 gallon drum is used as the Drum Evaporator vessel, it can simply be capped and hauled for disposal.
The ENCON Drum Evaporator completely encapsulates a 55-gallon drum of water and heats it from the outside, thereby eliminating contact of heating elements with the wastewater. This makes the ENCON Drum Evaporator appropriate for de-watering waste streams with high solids loading including water based inks, paints, adhesives, and concentrated residues from the ENCON Wastewater Evaporators since there is no concern about "baking on" of contaminants to the heaters.
The ENCON Drum Evaporator can also be fitted with the optional Drum Dryer package, enabling the unit to operate in dryer mode and reduce standard drum residue slurry to a dry, landfill eligible, pile of solids.
